Red Hat launches Openshift Tomcat application a free cloud computing platform as a service. There is another version available called Openshift Enterprise for Private cloud.
The software that runs the service is open-sourced under the name OpenShift Origin, and is available on GitHub.
When working with OpenShift, the first step of our application’s deployment is to create a YAML configuration file.
This file contains basic information. about the deployment like the containers, used for running applications.
(1), scaling (2), triggers that drive automated deployments in response to events (3).

OpenShift Tomcat supports web-application frameworks by supporting each language’s preferred web-integration API. With no required changes to the actual framework code.
- Rack for Ruby
- WSGI for Python
- PSGI for Perl

- Perl Dancer
