How to solve Puzzle part-1

    This page is for fun. I am writing this page so that freshers as well as seniors can think logically.I don’t think freshers need to panic during 1st round of interview –the written test where the puzzle use to puzzle them.Everybody if we try to solve 5 puzzles per day and 60 days of preparation is taken, that is more than enough to crack an interview.

    Lets talk about Puzzle

    • There is a merry-go-round race going on. One person says,”1/3 of those in front of me and 3/4  of those behind me, give the total number of children in the race”. Then the number of children took part in the race? 

    say there are x number of person in the race. 
    The child stating this excluding him there are (x-1) children (Here the catch is the Those)
    so 1/3(x-1)+3/4(x-1)=x
    calculating x=13

    • Two trains are approaching each other at 60mph each. The length of each train is 1/6 miles. When the two locomotives (engines) meet, how many seconds will it take for them to pass each other completely? 
    for passing each train completely means they need to cross themselves. So they need to travel 1/6+1/6 miles=1/3 miles
    as the train approaching each other the relative speed becomes 60mph+60mph=120mph
    so the required time=(1/3)miles/120 miles/hour=1/360 hour=3600/360 sec=10 sec

    • There are 5 persons who have won top five places in an event in
      Olympics . one of them asks all the five
      regarding their positions, they reply as
      a: “i am not the last”
      b: “c is in third place”
      c: “E is behind A”
      d: “B is in first place”
      e: “D is not the first”
      The persons who have won gold and silver have lied, find the
      positions in order.
    So as per statement the positions are-B,D,C,A,E now applying the condition gold and silver owners lied.
    So rearranging again-
    Now gold and silver owner(B.C) lied
    the new sequence B,C,E,A,D
    Now again B,C laying and it became a loop here
    So the correct ans is B,C,E,A,D

    • If i multiplied by i is me. me multiplied by multiplied by me is she. What is the value of she? 
    This is more logical than a puzzle.

    it is like squiring of any number must be a 2 digit number.
    Those cases are 4*4=16,5*5=25,6*6=36 and so on
    and again squiring of the 2 digit number must give a 3 digit number whose last digit is same as  two digit number(e)
    Those cases are=16*16=256 (last digit are same -6)
    25*25=625(but as per first logic if i replace i with 5 so the squire must be 2 different digit other than i viz 5 so rejecting this)
    36*36=1296 does not hold good for logic 1 and logic 2
    So the value of she is 256 where s=2.h=5 and e=6

    • . A boy is playing a game. He took totally 55 blocks and kept like placing some x number on the ground, next one less than that  above those blocks like that till the topmost one is one, like

                                               x x x x x x x x
                                              x x x x x x x x x
                                             x x x x x x x x x x
      The question is how many blocks are there at the base level?
      if you check from top most position you can get 1+2+3…n=55 (as he is having 55 blocks)
      we know $$S_n=frac{n(n+1)}{2}$$ for all n positive
      => n2+n-110=0
      or, (n-10)*(n-11)=0
      or n=10 as n>0
      so there are 10 block in the base
