Introduction to Solution To Networking Problems
I am a cybersecurity expert who uses a lot of data. My job is such that I am always online and working on something.
Ever since the start of the pandemic, my workload has doubled as every part of my job is now done online. I no longer have to go to my office and sit in my chair and do my job, I now have to work from home all day and attend meetings and discussions, so I require a very steady, stable, and smooth Wi-Fi connection.
I have a very good connection and it hasn’t created any problems at all but I always seem to get network problems when I am a bit away from the router.
I realized that the problem was with the router and not the ISP so I searched for a solution online. I found a very capable device and bought it.
The device I bought was the rock space ac1200 rsd0608 extender and it performed its functions better than I thought it would.
It was quite affordable and offered many of the features that a few top tier extenders offered. I performed the rock space ac1200 rsd0608 extender set up by accessing the default gateway. Below is a list of instructions for setting up the extender.
Setting up the extender
The entire set-up is easy and doesn’t take up a lot of time nor does it require a lot of technical knowledge. Anyone who can read the instructions can easily do the set-up.
Before setting up the extender make sure to carefully unbox the extender and remove all the pieces of packaging then plug it into a power socket and turn it on.
Once the repeater has been turned on the actual set-up process can begin. There are a few ways to set-up the extender and they are all mentioned below.
To set up the extender using an ethernet cable connect the ethernet cable to the extender and then insert the other end into your personal computer and head over to the default gateway by typing in the default i.p address in your web browser and enter your login credentials or you can also head over to there.rockspace.local page and set up the extender from there.
This completes the rock space ac1200 rsd0608 extender browser setup via a wired connection. After setting up you can login to the page and change the extender’s settings and you can also change the SSID and password of your repeater and set it as a new access point or you can connect to your existing router by selecting the scan option and clicking on your router from the list of available devices.
You can also set-up the extender via a wireless connection if you want to. To do that make sure that your extender is connected to your smartphone or laptop.
Then the set-up process is pretty much the same. You can also set-up the extender via the WPS button if you want. To set-up via the WPS button press and hold the WPS button at the back of the extender for about 5 seconds till the lights start flashing, then do the same on the main Wi-Fi router.
Once the connection has been established you will see that the internet symbol will have turned green from orange.
This extender is also Alexa enabled so if you want to know how to connect rock space ext with Alexa? Then follow the instructions given below.

Extender Alexa enabling and firmware update
Enabling Alexa in the extender is very simple. If you want to do so then go to rsd0608 re.rockspace.local setup and turn on the third-party assistant feature then you can open Alexa in your phone and scan for smart devices in your vicinity.
Once the scan is complete select the extender to enable Alexa. If you get any issues with the extender then make sure to check your extender firmware and update it to the latest version.
To do that login to the default page and click on the update option in the system settings. But before that search for the model number on the internet to get the firmware file.
Then download the firmware file and select it from the update menu and click on update to update the extender.
If at any point during the set-up you find any issues then try rebooting your extender and if that doesn’t work then factory reset your extender. That will solve the issue.
